We supply heat transfer equipment, and vapor condensing is the duty we handle most. That covers sanitary and food service, pharmaceutical and bioprocess work under ASME BPE, general process and utility condensing, and column overhead and reflux duty where the condenser is part of the separation.

Because we work with established manufacturers rather than building to one house design, the recommendation can follow the duty rather than the catalog. Sometimes that means a shell and tube unit in a particular TEMA configuration; sometimes an air cooled bundle because there is no cooling water to spare, or a spiral because the stream fouls faster than anyone wants to clean it.

The most useful thing you can tell us is what the process is actually doing — vapor rate and composition including the noncondensable fraction, operating pressure, the coolant available, and the pressure drop you can afford. If some of that is unknown, that is normal; we would rather size for a realistic assumption and tell you we made it. Call and talk it through with an engineer.
